Description

Oak Cottage is a row of cottages, now combined into a single dwelling, located on the west side of High Street, Swaffham Prior. The central cottage may date from the 17th century, with the adjoining cottages likely built in the 18th or 19th century. The construction is partly timber-framed and rendered, featuring brick and clunch sills of varying heights. The roof is red tiled, with an original ridge stack; the upper courses of the stack have been rebuilt in gault brick, and a flue has been added to the cottage on the left-hand side. The property is one storey high with attics. The three dormers, four windows, and door are 20th-century additions. The building is included on the heritage register for its group value.
