Description
St Mary's Cottages is a terrace of houses built around 1835. The cottages are constructed of painted Flemish bond brick and feature a slate roof with gabled ends and brick modillion eaves. There are brick axial stacks, one of which is truncated. The terrace consists of three houses, with the left and center houses now combined into one house (No 47). Each house has a double depth plan, including one front room and a smaller heated rear service room, from which a staircase rises. The exterior is two storeys high with an asymmetrical three-window west front, featuring 19th-century 12-pane sash windows. There are round arch doorways on the left and right, both with a blind fanlight, panelled doors, and a boot-scraper to the left. A similar doorway to the left of center has been blocked. The interior has not been inspected.
