Description

This is a terrace of four cottages dating from around 1830, located on the west side of High Street, Swaffham Prior. The front of the terrace is built of gault brick, while the end walls are of clunch, with the upper part of the left-hand gable rebuilt in brick. The roof is slate, featuring a dentil eaves cornice and four ridge stacks. The cottages are two storeys high. The upper floor has four original recessed sash windows with twelve panes each, and one central blind window opening, all with flat arches. The ground floor also has four sash windows and four doorways. The original four-panel doors remain, with the upper two panels beaded and the lower two flush. The buildings are included on the list for their contribution to the group value of the street.
