Description
This Nonconformist burial chapel, located on the north side of the primary access road, was built around 1855. It features knapped flint and stone dressings, with slate roofs that still have their original ornamental cresting. The chapel has a nave and sanctuary consisting of three continuous bays, with a south porch and vestry that project from the sides, creating a T-plan layout. It is designed in the Gothic Revival style, highlighted by an east wheel window and a decorated tracery light above the west entrance. The gable face and the entrance to the south porch are adorned with carved stops in the shape of a vesica piscis. The gable ends are capped with coping that is finished with gable crosses. The original plank doors are fitted with iron hinges. Inside, the chapel has a plain plastered interior that lacks original fittings but retains an exposed rafter roof, with the bays defined by doubled rafters connected by a carved fascia and passing braces. This chapel forms a pair with the Anglican chapel located to the south.
