Description

Two cottages, now combined into one dwelling, were built in the late 18th or early 19th century. The cottages are constructed of red and yellow gault brick, painted on the front wall, and have a steeply pitched roof originally thatched, now covered in asbestos. There are end chimneys. The building is one storey with attics, and features three 19th-century dormers containing twelve-pane hung sashes. The front has three 19th-century hung sashes, one with sixteen panes and two with twelve panes, all set within flush frames. One early 19th-century doorway has a reeded doorcase. Another doorway also has a reeded doorcase and is from the early 19th century, but incorporates a reused early 18th-century frieze depicting fruit and foliage, along with an early 18th-century cornice of a shell motif.
