Description

This property comprises a farmhouse, dating to 1673 according to a date on the gable wall (although this has since been covered), and a former bakehouse which has been converted into a separate dwelling. The farmhouse is constructed of local buff brick and clunch, with rendered timber-frame to the north-east, and has a plain tile roof that is hipped to the south-west. It has two storeys with attics and a basement. A large side stack is located to the north-west. The south-east elevation features two horizontal sliding sash dormer windows with sloping roofs, two first-floor casement windows set within segmental brick arches, and at ground floor, one hung sash window with glazing bars also within a segmental brick arch. There is also a blocked round-headed opening, a half-glazed door with a flat, segmental-shaped canopy, and a small canted bay window with glazing bars to the right. A brick band defines the floor level, and a plinth is present at ground level. The bakehouse, originally to the north-east, has walls likely rebuilt in the 19th century using random courses of brick and Barnack limestone. It has a 19th-century pantile roof with two ridge stacks and contains three casement windows and a boarded door.
