Description

The Village Centre, formerly known as The Feoffees' School, is a village hall dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of local gault brick and features a plain tile roof. The building is one storey high with an attic, although the dormer windows have recently been removed. It has tumbled parapet gables and an end stack on the right side. A dentil brick eaves cornice runs along the top, and there are six twelve-paned hung sash windows set in segmental brick arches. The entrance includes a 19th-century gabled closed porch with a steep two-centred arch and a boarded door. Historically, this building served as a poor house and was constructed on the site of the Guildhall.
