Description

The Hall is a large house, dating from the late 18th century, with extensions added in the early 19th century to create a double-pile plan. The side elevations show straight joints, indicating the phases of construction. The house is built of red brick, although the main facade has been rendered with a modern finish. It has a double, low-pitched hipped slate roof and a stack to the right and rear.

The building is two storeys high with five bays. It has a parapet with coping and a band at the eaves, and a plinth. The first floor has five recessed twelve-paned hung sash windows. Four garden windows, with fifteen panes in recessed round-headed arches, are located on the garden front. The main entrance features three-panelled double doors with a patterned rectangular fanlight, and a modern classical portico. A shaped wall is visible to the right.

The interior includes good chimney pieces, though these are not original to the building. Historical notes, recollections, and county volume references are documented, including work by R.H. Cory, L. & R.M. Taylor, and the Victoria County History.
