Description
The pedestal and urn at Mill Lawn, located at Anglesey Abbey, is a significant historical feature. The drum pedestal dates back to the 2nd or 3rd century AD and is made of white marble, intricately carved with festoons and Bacchic figures in relief. Atop the pedestal is an urn from the early 18th century, made of lead, which depicts a Bacchanal and originates from Drakelowe Hall in Burton on Trent. The urn is initialled W.M.
