Description
The statue of an elderly man is located in Poets Walk at Anglesey Abbey. It was likely created in the early 20th century and is made of stone. The figure is depicted wearing a fleece-lined robe. It has been identified as representing Winter, according to an unpublished survey report by J Kenworthy-Browne for the National Trust in 1980, or possibly the poet John Dyer, who lived from 1700 to 1758, as noted in Bunt's article on garden sculpture at Anglesey Abbey published in Connoisseur in 1949.
