Description

This headstone, dated 1731, is located approximately 15 metres south of the south aisle of the Church of St Leonard and east of the churchyard path. It is made of limestone and features a moulded shouldered round head with a figure of Charity seated with a child, along with angel-heads and festoons of fruit and flowers. There is a shouldered plaque that bears an inscription to Christopher Gr..n from 1731. This headstone is considered one of the best examples of a strong local tradition that is well represented in this churchyard.
