Description

This headstone, located about 5 metres from the south porch of the Church of St Leonard and east of the churchyard path, dates from 1757 and 1795. It is made of limestone and features a design of a child kneeling with palms and festoons, along with a Greek temple. The black painted inscriptions commemorate 'Richard Hopkin and Elizabeth his wife .... 1757, 1795'. This headstone is considered one of the best examples of a notable local tradition that is well represented in this churchyard.
