Description
The tomb of Elizabeth and George Kett is a chest tomb located in Mill Road Cemetery. It is made of stone and features a coped cruciform design. At the east end, there is a high relief kneeling figure of Mary Magdalene holding a jar of ointment. The tomb includes inscriptions for Elizabeth Kett, who died in 1913, and George Kett, who died in 1933. George Kett was associated with the firm of Rattee and Kett, a well-known woodcarving and architectural sculpting company in Cambridge. This tomb is part of a group that includes the Rattee and Moyes tombs.
