Description

The tomb of Edward and Elizabeth Rist Lawrence is located at Mill Road Cemetery and dates from around 1857. This monument is made of stone and features a moulded square pedestal adorned with a frieze of finely carved beribboned wreaths. Above the pedestal sits a square cinerary urn, which has carved pediments and antefixae, topped with an elaborate finial. The inscriptions on the tomb commemorate Edward Rist Lawrence, who died in 1876, his wife Elizabeth, who died in 1857, and another Edward, who died in 1861 at the age of 25.
