Description
The Richardson Candle street lamps, designed specifically for Cambridge City by Sir Albert Richardson in 1957, are located in St John's Street and north Trinity Street. Manufactured by the REVO electrical company, these lamps feature a vertical, tubular lantern made of translucent glass that houses fluorescent tubes. The lantern is topped and based with simple cast-iron elements and is supported by a slim, fluted column made of bronze-coloured cast-iron.
There is also a wall-mounted version of the lamp, which is secured to the building with a pair of plain metal brackets at each end. The lower bracket is embossed with the word REVO.
