Description

This is a row of 18th-century or earlier timber-framed buildings on Castle Street. The row comprises nine windows and extends to two storeys with an attic. The windows are primarily sliding sash windows and casements. Shops were inserted into the fronts of numbers 57, 59, 63, 67, and 69 in the 19th century. Number 57, 59, 63, and 67 include panel doors. Dormers with pediments are visible in the attic of numbers 65, 67, and 69. The roofs display three different lines; numbers 59, 61, and 63 have modern tile roofs, while the remaining buildings have older tiles.
