Description
The Royal Hotel is an early 19th-century house constructed of rendered brick and topped with a grey slate roof. It stands three storeys tall and features a five-window range, with 19th-century double-hung vertical sliding sashes set in plain reveals. The building has a plain parapet, with the central three bays raised and capped horizontally. There is a two-storey balcony, which is partially infilled, supported by slender stucco piers on the ground floor and cast iron posts on the first floor. The balcony is topped with a tented lead roof that has a valance. A large modern extension has been added to the west and north sides of the building.
