Description

Southchurch Lawn, now part of Eton House School, is a late 18th-century country house that was once the residence of Princess Charlotte of Wales in 1801. The house is constructed of stuccoed brick and includes a pedimented wing to the east. It is two storeys high, with a seven-window front on the main block and a two-window front on the wing. The windows are double-hung sashes, with glazing bars only in the upper sashes. The central three-window section features a pediment, and a Tuscan portico flanked by verandahs with swept roofs and cast iron ornamental supports. The roof is slate. 20th-century additions are present at the rear and on the east side.
