Description

The bridge over the River Welland, known as Deeping Gate Bridge, was built in 1651. It features ashlar and coursed limestone rubble abutments. The structure has three semi-circular arches, each adorned with two stepped chamfered orders and chamfered hoods. Between the arches, there are triangular cutwaters. The sides of the bridge have plain bands with a coped parapet above. Notably, there is a flood mark from 1880 on the east side. This bridge is also designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument No. 151 and is listed in the Peterborough District of Cambridgeshire.
