Description
No. 30 Bridge Street is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, featuring ashlar quoins and dressings. The roof is covered with concrete tiles, has stone-coped gables, and includes a single red brick gable stack along with a yellow pantile roof. The building has an L-plan shape and is a single storey plus garrets, presenting an irregular three-bay front.
The right-hand bay is gabled facing the street, while the left-hand bay was originally an outbuilding that has since been incorporated into the cottage. The central entrance consists of a half-glazed door, with a blocked former opening to the left that now contains a 20th-century fixed light. To the right, there is a 17th-century four-light mullioned window with a cornice, which has been altered to include a single light from the 20th century. On the first floor, there is a stone oriel window with a swept base and a hipped lead roof. Originally mullioned, this window now features a three-light wooden window from the 20th century.
