Description

The Village Hall, formerly a school, dates from 1829. It is a plain rectangular building constructed of coursed stone with ashlar dressings and features a low pitched hipped slate roof. The structure has two storeys and a five-window range. The windows are three-light metal frame casements with leaded panes set in plain openings. On the east end wall, there is a later 19th-century window with three round-headed lights, along with a late 19th-century wing that has a modern extension at the rear. The building was established by Charles William, 5th Earl Fitzwilliam, as a church school.
