Description
The Boat House, dated 1871, is located about 500 yards east-south-east of Burghley House, on the south-east side of the lake in Burghley Park. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features a pediment with a carved tympanum displaying the date. The wide segmental arch is flanked by rusticated pilastered niches, each topped with an urn above the entablature. A finial sits over the apex of the pediment, and the building is covered with a slate roof.
