Description

1. 5141 WANSFORD OLD NORTH ROAD No 1 (Greystone) (formerly listed as The Cottage) TL 0799 45/683 19.3.62 II 2. C17 ashlar house. Datestone on front "1657 TT". Collyweston stone roof with gabled ends. Front has wide 2-storeyed splayed bay, 6-lights wide with ovolo moulded stone mullion. Moulded eaves, cornice and hipped roof. Moulded string course and plain plinth. External stone stack at south end with offsets. Interior was gutted in late C19/early C20 to form one room said to have been billiard room of adjoining house, it contains some re-used panelling, partly C17. Later C19 or C20 wing at rear (west) with Collyweston stone roof.
