Description

The Hall is a house dating from the 17th century, with possible earlier origins, as indicated by the remains of a stone finial on one gable end that may be medieval. It underwent alterations in the 18th century. The building is constructed of coursed rubble, partially rendered, with ashlar dressings, and features a Collyweston stone slate roof with coped gables. It has two large side stacks on the north side and is designed in an L-shape, comprising two storeys and attics.

The south front has a five-window range and includes a central hipped roofed stair turret topped with a finial and weather-vane. A recently uncovered two-light ovolo-moulded stone-mullioned window is present, along with the main entrance below, which is lit by a round-headed casement window with glazing bars. The 18th-century sash windows, which also have glazing bars, are set in raised plain architraves. The south wing, which is two windows wide, features similar sash windows on the west side but has irregular fenestration on the east, including a three-light ovolo-moulded stone-mullioned window with a cornice above. There is an additional wing to the east that aligns with the main block and has a ridge stack with a datestone marked B over EE 1684. A two-storey 19th-century bay window is located on the west gable end.

Inside, there is a 17th-century oak panelled room featuring strap-work pilaster strips and a frieze, along with an 18th-century plasterwork ceiling.
