Description
The range of stables and smithy to the east of Milton Hall is a Grade II* listed building, dated 1720. It is constructed from coursed stone rubble and features a steeply pitched hipped Collyweston stone roof. The building is two storeys high with an attic and has a coved eaves cornice and a band at floor level. It is U-shaped in plan, with an elliptical arched carriageway through the central range leading to a courtyard. The ground floor includes stable doors with rectangular fanlights and horizontal pivot windows that have glazing bars. On the first floor, there are 2-light casements, some of which still have their leaded panes, along with loft doors. The south wing contains a range of five segmental-headed carriage doors and hipped dormers. The blacksmith's workshop is located in the northern wing.
