Description

Walnut House is likely a 17th-century stone rubble house situated on the west side of Main Street, Ailsworth. It has large quoins and a steeply pitched wood shingle roof with gabled ends. Stone chimney stacks with brick tops, and a brick ridge stack positioned off-centre are present. The front façade has three windows arranged in a three-window range, with three-light casement windows and a modern central door. A buttress is located on the front wall. A circa 18th-century wing extends to the right at a right angle, forming an L-shaped plan. This wing has a lower pantile roof and two windows with casements.
