Description

This is a 16th-century brick archway, part of Dean's Court, located within the Peterborough Precincts. The archway features stone dressings and moulding around a large arch, which is topped with a finial and a shield bearing arms. A smaller arch sits to the right, linked by a stone string course. Two small buttresses are also present. Later work has been carried out on the right-hand side. The archway is part of a group that includes the Great Gate, the Chapel of St Thomas, the Archway to Dean's Court, and numbers 1 to 10 (consec).
