Description
The gatelodge to Westwood House, built in 1860, is a single-storey gatehouse located on the north side of Thorpe Road in Peterborough. It features an elongated octagonal plan for the front block, with a small link to the rear block. The building is constructed from ashlar and has a low-pitched hipped roof made of Welsh slate. There is a later extension to the north made of yellow brick and slate. The facade is modelled with quoins, a plinth, a stringcourse, and a projection below the windows. The windows are round-headed sashes with glazing bars, each topped with a keystone and a drip mould. The gatelodge also has ashlar chimneys that include a cornice and a dentil course.
