Description
Nos 70 to 76 on Hastings Street is a terrace of four mid-19th century cottages built as two pairs. They are constructed from Luton grey bricks with red brick dressings and feature a Welsh slate roof, except for No 72, which has modern interlocking tiles. Nos 70 and 72 have two first floor windows on either side of an arched blind window decorated with a diaper motif. The left window is a sash with glazing bars. The ground floor has a central archway flanked by doors set in deep reveals, featuring a timber surround with fluted pilasters, an entablature, and a cornice. The outer windows are sashes with glazing bars. Nos 74 and 76 are similar in style but have a central sash window on the first floor, while No 74 has modern casements on both the first and ground floors.
