Description

SP 9433-9533 WOBURN PARK STREET 8/141 23.1.61 Lion Lodge GV II Entrance lodge to Woburn Abbey from centre of Woburn village. Late C18, probably for Francis, 5th Duke of Bedford. Stucco, with slate roof. Shallow stone parapet and coping to gables. Low single-storeyed rectangular building, gable end to road. W elevation: central slightly projecting pedimented bay containing 2-light casement with glazing bars. To LH is projecting polygonal bay, again with casements with glazing bars. To R of pedimented bay is panelled door and 2 2-light horizontal sashes with glazing bars. Stuccoed double ridge stack. Road gable has doorway and wrought iron lamp projecting from pediment.
