Description
Nos 27 and 29 Church Street are late 17th-century, two-storey buildings. The ground floor is constructed of brick, while the upper floor features rough plaster. They have shallow wooden eaves beneath a steep hipped tiled roof at the east end. No 27 is built with all black headers, accented with red stretcher quoins and windows. In contrast, No 29 has red brick with courses that alternate between English Bond and headers only, with some areas patched and renewed in Flemish bond. There are four windows in total: the ground floor has three early sash windows, and the upper floor consists entirely of leaded casements. Additionally, No 29 features an early 19th-century door with glazed panels. These buildings, along with Nos 1 to 39 (odd) and the Court House, form a group with No 127 Dunstable Street.
