Description
The Old Anchor is a house that was formerly known as The Anchor Inn. It dates from the 17th and 18th centuries and is constructed with a timber frame, mostly covered in colourwashed brick. The roof is made of clay tiles. The building is two storeys high and has a three-room layout.
On the southwest elevation, both floors feature three 3-light casement windows. The left-hand ground floor windows are situated beside a single light window, which seems to have replaced a doorway. This arrangement is nearly aligned with a brick double ridge stack. There is a plank door located between the two right-hand bays. Additionally, there is an external brick stack at the right-hand gable end and a small lean-to addition at the rear.
