Description

Clematis Cottage is an 18th and 19th century house located on Station Road, near Langford End. The main part of the house has a timber frame with colourwashed roughcast rendering, although some timber framing is visible on the gable ends. It is a two-room plan building, single-storey and with attics, and is thatched. A 19th century addition to the left-hand side, also single-storey and with attics, is roofed with slates and clay tiles. The front of the house has a sash window with glazing bars and a two-light casement window on the ground floor. There are two dormers in the attic – one gabled and one hipped, the gabled dormer containing a casement window and the hipped dormer containing a horizontal sash window. A red brick chimney stack is located on the left-hand gable end of the original part of the house. A further addition projects from the rear of the building, and is rendered with a clay tile roof. The entrance is at the rear.
