No. 40 Church End is a 17th-century house located in Everton. It features colourwashed roughcast render over a timber frame and has a thatched roof that is hipped at the right-hand end. The house has a three-room plan and consists of one storey with attics. A hipped bay may have been added later. The property includes a variety of casement windows with glazing bars, with three on the ground floor and one in a gabled dormer. There are also two plank doors and a red brick double ridge stack.
