Description

Nos 43 and 45 on New Road date from around 1830 to 1840. The buildings are constructed of red brick and dressed with stucco, featuring a Welsh slated roof with an eaves cornice. They have basements and three storeys, with rusticated plinths and chamfered quoins. Each building has three sash windows with glazing bars, which are framed by architrave surrounds. The ground and first floor windows have cornices supported by consoles, while the central window on each upper floor is a dummy with painted glazing bars. There is a central pair of four-panelled doors with fanlights set in rusticated surrounds, and spearhead area railings complete the front. Nos 43A, 43, and 45 form a group.
