Description
Sandye Place is an early 18th century house designed in the style of Henry Flitcroft, and it now forms part of a school. The building features a parapet above the door with a tablet that records earlier houses on the site. It is a square structure with two storeys, constructed of red brick, and has a basement visible on the south-east and north-west sides, although the terrace is raised on the south-west side. The house has stone dressings, a parapet interrupted by balustrading, and a hipped tile roof. There are five windows arranged in a 1:3:1 pattern, with a projecting and pedimented bay for the central three windows on the garden front. A modern five-sided bay extends further from the ground floor. A coat of arms is enclosed in a pediment. On the south-east side, a wide stone perron leads up to the front door. Additionally, a three-storey wing made of ironstone was added in the 19th century.
