Description
59 and 59A High Street is a 17th-century farmhouse that has been converted into four flats. The front wing was reclad in the 19th century, while the T-wing was partially reclad and had its windows changed around 1989. The building is timber-framed, with the front wing covered in gault brick and the T-wing rendered. It has a concrete tiled roof and features an external rendered and brick stack on the T-wing, along with an off-central gault brick chimneystack. The structure is two stories tall. The front wing includes three casement windows, one of which is a triple window with a stucco head on the ground floor, and there is a right-hand doorcase to no 59 beneath a shallow archway. The T-wing has two 20th-century triple casements. There is a 20th-century gabled porch for no 21 and wooden staircases for no 59A and no 22. Inside, the ground floor has exposed beams and a queen post roof.
