Description
Hanscombe End Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It features colourwashed roughcast render over a timber frame and has clay tile roofs. The building has a T-plan layout and stands two storeys high with attics.
On the west elevation, the ground and first floors each have two 3-light leaded casement windows, while the attic includes a gabled dormer with a 2-light leaded casement. The ground floor windows are fitted with plank shutters. There is a flush panel door topped with a pediment hood. A 19th-century canopied trelliswork verandah runs along the entire ground floor. The rear block has a variety of casement windows, some of which are leaded. A red brick multiple ridge stack is located at the junction with the front wing, and there is a red brick integral stack on the east gable end.
