Description

The Old School is a former school building, now used as offices. It was erected in 1856, as indicated by a plaque that names J.A. Frere, Vicar, and P.Paine and C.Lines, church wardens. The building is constructed of yellow brick, with some decorative patterning using red headers, and has slate roofs.

The building comprises a single-storeyed central block, with a gabled structure to the west that is one storey high including attics, and a two-storey gabled section to the east. The central and right-hand blocks feature mullion and transom windows. The left-hand gable has mullioned windows. A gabled porch with a pointed arched doorway is located in the centre of the building. An octagonal bell turret with louvred panels, a leaded spirelet supported on wood brackets, and a weathervane are prominent features. Decorative pierced bargeboards adorn the end gables and porch.
