Description

This is a farmhouse, dating to approximately 1800, and possibly incorporating an earlier structure, with a slightly later addition. The house is built of red brick, with flared brick headers on some parts, and has hipped clay tile roofs. Its layout is L-shaped, with the later addition forming an angle. The front range has two storeys and three windows. It features two canted bay windows on the ground floor, each with sash windows, and three sash windows on the first floor. All windows contain glazing bars. The central doorway has a six-panel door within a reeded surround, set beneath a round-headed arch. All openings are framed by gauged brick heads. A substantial red brick integral stack is located on the right-hand side wall. A large ridge stack is situated at the rear, on the left-hand block, at the junction with the front block.
