Description
West Half House is a 19th-century building with a distinctive exedral plan and a half-conical roof. The front façade is made of white brick laid in stretcher bond, while the rear is constructed from red brick, generally laid in English bond, topped with a lead-covered roof.
The house faces south into a small clearing. Its façade features a central segmental brick arched opening, which has an ashlar keystone and imposts, flanked by pilaster strips. Above this opening, the pediment is adorned with wooden mouldings. The rear of the building is blind but includes cast-iron rainwater goods and small circular ventilation holes in the lower courses.
Inside, a single step leads through the arch to a rendered interior that includes a wooden semi-circular seat and a stone flag floor with decorative black tiles arranged in an inset diamond pattern.
