Description

SP 9433-9533 WOBURN MARKET PLACE (West side) 8/130 23.1.61 No. 14 (Woburn Boutique) (formerly listed as Nos. 6 and 7 high Street) GV II House, ground floor converted to shop. Mid C18, reworked C19. Brownish red bricks, some vitrified. C20 tile roof. 2 storeys and attics, forming end of row. N end is semi-circular, with semi-conical roof. Ground floor has late C19 shop front to LH, with 3 moulded pilasters framing a part-glazed door with rectangular fanlight and a window with glazing bars. Ground floor of semi-circular bay is taken up by almost continuous bow window, of 3-lights to N and 2-lights to E with glazing bars and pilasters similar to shop front. Between these are a blocked doorway, a sash window and a blind window, both the latter with segmental heads. First floor (including N side of semi- circular end) has 4 sashes and 3 blind windows, all with segmental gauged brick heads. Sashes all have glazing bars and wide wood frames almost flush with wall. Attic has 3 hipped dormers containing 2-light casements with glazing bars. Multiple chimney stacks behind ridge.
