Description
Alderman's House is a house dating from 1689, as indicated by the datestone on the southwest gable end of the original wing. In the late 18th century or early 19th century, a wing of similar style was added to the northwest. The house is constructed of coursed limestone rubble. The 17th-century wing was originally thatched but now features a concrete plain tile roof, while the rest of the house is covered with Welsh slates. All gable ends have stone coping. The house is two storeys high with attics. The southeast elevation, which faces the road, has three three-light casements on each floor. Similar style windows are irregularly positioned on all elevations of the house. The southwest elevation includes a bay window on the ground floor of the later wing and a gabled roof porch.
