Description
No. 135 High Street is a cottage that dates back to 1722, as indicated on the southeast gable, but it likely has origins in the 17th century. The building features a substantial timber frame with close studding and plaster infill on the southwest elevation, while the road-facing gable end is rough cast. There are brick additions, and the entire structure is colourwashed. The roof is made of old clay tiles. The cottage consists of two bays and two storeys, with a later one-storey addition on the northwest gable end and a one-storey brick lean-to addition on the northeast elevation. The road gable end has two 2-light horizontal sash windows with glazing bars, while the southeast elevation has casement windows, with one leaded window on the ground floor.
