Description
The Lodge to Kempston Bury, built in the mid to late 19th century, is designed in the cottage ornee style. It is constructed of red brick with yellow brick dressings and features a roof made of alternating rows of plain and decorative tiles. The building has a T-plan layout, with a slightly lower two-span block at the rear angle. It consists of one storey and attics, with two ground floor windows and two gabled dormers on the main block, along with one window on each floor of the left-hand gable. All windows are cast iron lattice 2-light casements. A tiled gabled porch is located at the center of the main block. The left-hand gable and dormers have pierced decorative bargeboards, and there is a plaque with a blank shield set into the left-hand gable above the attic window. The building also features a variety of single and multiple chimney stacks.
