Description
Bromford is a row of cottages dating from the 18th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. The cottages are constructed with a timber frame and have a colourwashed roughcast render. Nos. 229 and 231 feature a gabled clay tile roof, while No. 233 has a slated gambrel roof. The overall plan consists of five rooms across two storeys.
The left-hand block, which includes Nos. 229 and 231, has a canted bay window with casements and a sash window on the ground floor, along with three different casements with glazing bars on the first floor. There is a moulded panel door at the centre and a plank door to the right. The roof is adorned with crested ridge tiles, and there is a red brick integral stack on the left gable end.
The right-hand block, No. 233, features one three-light and one two-light casement window on each floor, mostly with glazing bars, and a plank door to the right. A central red brick ridge stack has been recently removed.
