Description

The parish church tower, which is a Grade I listed structure, is located freestanding to the northwest of the church in Elstow. It dates back to the 15th century and is constructed of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings. The tower has a square plan and consists of four stages, with a stair turret positioned at the northwest corner. Each corner features four-stage diagonal buttresses, and there are string courses that divide the stages. The tower is topped with an embattled parapet and a small lead spire. Each side of the top stage includes a paired two-light window with a transom. The entrance door is located on the east side, and the stair turret is illuminated by three quatrefoils.
