Description

The wrought iron gates to St Peter's Close, dating from around 1700, were provided by Anne Aspin, the lady of the manor. They were rehung in the 20th century between new square red brick piers that are topped with the original ball finials. The gates consist of three leaves, with the central leaf designed to open. Above the top rail of the main rectangles, there is elaborate scroll work that incorporates the initials AA.
