Description
Appleby Farmhouse, formerly known as Little Church Farm, is a 17th-century farmhouse. It features a colour-washed rough cast exterior over a timber frame and has an old clay tile roof. The building is L-shaped and has two storeys, with a rear wing that has been raised from its original one storey and attics to two storeys.
On the front elevation, there is a 19th-century central gabled porch that has bargeboards and extends over two storeys. The first floor has three sets of two-light casement windows with glazing bars, while the ground floor has two similar casement windows flanking a six-panel door set in a moulded surround. The farmhouse has one red brick chimney stack and another integral red brick stack on the west gable end. There is also a 20th-century addition to the east elevation of the rear block.
