Description

Priory Farmhouse is a complex house located on the north side of Harrold High Street, featuring a rear section that dates back to the 16th or early 17th century, constructed from coursed limestone rubble. The building has a tiled roof and is designed in a T shape, with a half-hipped roof on the cross wing. It stands two storeys tall and has a prominent central chimney stack on the main wing, which features four rectangular shafts arranged at right angles to the base. The windows are irregularly placed casements with glazing bars.

The rear elevation includes two single-storey lean-tos. The front block, added in the late 19th century, is finished with pebbledash render and has a hipped tiled roof on the left end and a half-hipped roof on the right. A two-storey gabled porch projects forward, adorned with wavy-edged bargeboards and a drop finial. The first floor of the porch oversails and is clad in mock timber-framing. The ground floor features a canted bay with a double doorway beneath an arched fanlight, and similar arched fanlights are present above the casement windows on the side elevations. The porch is flanked by two mullion and transom casement windows with glazing bars, which are set beneath drip moulds. The right elevation has a similar window on each floor, while the left elevation features an attic gabled dormer with bargeboards and a drop finial.
